How is BUZmob different
Existing solutions for mobile feed reading are focused on early adopters and technophiles. These solutions often include handset client software which needs to be downloaded to the user’s phone. Alternative delivery methods include a combination of web/WAP RSS readers, which force the end user to manage their feeds on the web and then access them via their mobile, through an often complicated process.
Almost all solutions target smart phone users (which make up less than 7% of the mobile handset market) and suffer from a very low adoption rate.
Most mobile users never download any software to their phone. Many cannot do so because their carrier prevents them from downloading applications. Still many more simply cannot install clients on their devices, even though they have “compliant” J2ME phones. Finally, most handset RSS clients cannot handle links on the RSS feed, and do not deliver an acceptable end-user experience.
At a more fundamental level, existing solutions target those mobile users who are actively seeking mobile Internet services. These users represent a tiny fraction of the total data-enabled mobile users out there. Mass market adoption has yet to occur, and there seems to be a technology adoption gap separating early adopters and the rest of us.
However, research shows that many mobile users express an interest in accessing web-based content on their mobile device, once it is pointed out to them that there is an easy way to do so. This is what makes BUZmob a unique approach to mobile feed distribution.
To make things even more complicated, content publishers need to add widgets and buttons to their websites, to enable end-users to add content to the multitude of feed readers out there (”Add this page to…”). Publishers end up promoting many 3rd party solutions in an attempt to increase their content’s reach.
BUZmob focuses on the content publisher - whether you are a blogger, a social network, a media company or an enterprise. With BUZmob, publishers are guaranteed universal access to their content, across all mobile devices and all mobile networks. This allows the publisher to announce to its readers that they can now easily access the content on their device. Universal access and ease of use mean that the publisher can now incorporate its mobile audience into its content distribution plans.

Mobile users are not required to download any software to their phone. Moreover, they are not required to subscribe to a service or even to type URLs in their phone’s mobile browser. A combination of automatic bookmark generation and text messaging ensures that access to content is immediate and pain-free. Once end-users access a content feed, they can visit any off-feed links, which are adapted in real time to their specific mobile device.
