What is BUZme?

  • BUZme lets you access feeds (RSS/Atom) and feed based content on your mobile device. It means you can access blogs, social networks, media and news websites and corporate information

How much does BUZme cost?

  • BUZme is free. Depending on your mobile data plan, there may be a cost involved in using the sevice, as it consumes data traffic. If you use the text messaging features of BUZme there may be a fee involved in receiving those messages, depenging on your mobile carrier.

I have an old phone, will BUZme work?

  • Yes, it usually will. BUZme adapts web content to your specific phone, on the fly. The only requirement is that your phone must be equipped with a mobile browser, and you must have a data plan which allows you to access the Internet on your phone.

Do I need to install anything on my phone?

  • No.

Can I add feeds from pages which don’t have BUZme buttons on them?

  • Yes!  Copy the URL of the RSS/Atom feed or of the content page you would like to add to your personal mobile page.
  • Visit http://www.buzmob.com/buzme.php on the web, and paste the URL in the text box.
  • Follow the BUZme process, and add the feed to your personal mobile page.

How do I use BUZme?

  • Look for websites with the “BUZme” button - BUZme- on them. These are websites which have incorporated our service. You can find a list of them here.
  • When you click on “BUZme” you’ll be asked to provide your mobile phone number. If you are a first time user, we will create a personal mobile page for you, which we will send to your phone via a text message.
  • The address for the website you were coming from will be added to your personal mobile page
  • All you have to do is to bookmark your personal mobile page in your phone’s browser. All the feeds you’re adding using BUZme will show up on that page, for easy access.
  • You can access the personal mobile page from your phone’s mobile browser at any time, and easily access all your favorite blogs and websites. You can even submit comments, fill out forms and visit other sites which are linked to your favorite feeds.

What are the known limitations of BUZme?

  • Currently in beta, the following issues may come up, depending on your phone, your mobile carrier and the website you are visiting:
  • Text message with personal mobile page URL not received – In some countries we are currently unable to deliver SMS messages. This will be resolved in the near future. Meanwhile, contact us to let us know in which country you are located.
  • Text message with personal mobile page URL received, but I cannot click/invoke the URL in the message – Some mobile phones and some mobile carriers do not allow you to invoke a mobile browser from within a text message. If this is the case, write down the URL to your personal mobile page, type it directly in your mobile browser, and bookmark it.
  • Some websites do not show up at all or are really messy on my mobile – Some websites simply cannot be displayed on mobile devices no matter what.
